AKKA Project (A Kostic Khachatourian Art Project) is an art gallery and at the same time a design space that mainly represents and supports artists from the African continent and its diaspora. On the occasion of the 59th Venice Biennale of Art, AKKA Project presents African Identities, a collective exhibition that intends to underline the role of the arts and artists from the African continent on the international scene. During the 2022 Biennale period, from April 23 to November 27, AKKA Project aspires to create a unique and enriching experience that will allow visitors to discover the infinite stories and works of its artists. The first edition of African Identities will focus on the art scene of some East African countries such as Kenya, Uganda, Zimbabwe and Mozambique. Starting from the consideration of the numerous ethnic groups, cultures, talents and styles that animate the continent, AKKA Project aims to present and bring together these many faces, including established talents and emerging young people, under one roof, giving them the opportunity for fruitful dialogues between them and with the European city at the center of contemporary production, Venice.
