The small but precious exhibition curated by Elisabetta Barisoni and hosted at Cà Pesaro in two of the rooms on the first floor of the Museum features the three watercolors recently donated to the collections of the Galleria Internazionale d’Arte Moderna by Ileana Ruggeri, an artist from Mantua who links her training and her career to Venice. Alongside the delicate watercolors, the oil paintings release reflections of Venetian architecture, letting us imagine the emergence of buildings suspended in the magical atmosphere of the city, in an eternal fluctuating between memory and present, between reality and imagination. The much-loved urban landscapes, from the Rialto Market to the Island of San Giorgio, border on the mists of the Barene, in a succession of dreamlike visions dominated by shades of blue and aquatic green, from which flashes of red and orange emerge, vibrant against the tremulous sky of the Venetian Lagoon.
