The evocative venues of the Ocean Space in Venice host the exhibition project born from the collaboration between OGR Torino and TBA21–Academy entitled Re-Stor(y)ing Oceania, which presents a preview of two site-specific commissions by the indigenous artists of the Pacific, Latai Taumoepeau and Elisapeta Hinemoa Heta. The exhibition curated by Taloi Havini, an artist originally from Bougainville and recent winner of the Artes Mundi Sward, combines the works of Latai Taumoepeau - Deep Communion sung in minor (ArhipelaGO, THIS IS NOT A DRILL) - and Wāhine Elisapeta Hinemoa Heta - The Body of Wainuiātea - in a common appeal against the dangers faced by planet Earth, inviting the public to connect with the voices of artists belonging to the different cultures of the large and varied region of islands and atolls of the Southern hemisphere, among the most affected by the harmful effects of climate change, which affects the entire globe. This exhibition is the spokesperson for those Pacific peoples who occupy over a quarter of the planet, with ancestral ties that extend from Taiwan to the Philippines, from Papua New Guinea to the Solomon Islands, up to Tonga, Samoa, Fiji and Palau, from Hawaii to the North, to the islands of Aotearoa to the South, Rapa Nui to the East, and the western coast of the Australian continent.
